LOVE BANG

Love Bang is a monthly dance party I’ve organized/DJed at for the last two and a half years in Shanghai. We make mixtapes and remixes too, available at my Soundcloud and my YouTube channel (or our Youku if you’re in China and not behind a VPN) Here’s the story, in English, 中文, and Español.

We’re like a house party in the club.  The night started in response to a lot of boring, one-genre events focused on house music*, or “hip hop” that isn’t actually hip hop.
*we like good house music too, but not for eight hours.
So we play lots of different tempos and genres in the same night, and we always got that bass. Some MCs usually come through too.
It began in a dive bar named Dada, on a small street in Shanghai called Xingfu Lu. Since then we’ve done nights at The Shelter in Shanghai, and venues in other cities like Chongqing (NUTS Club), Chengdu (Xiongmao Club), and Beijing (Haze, Black Rabbit Festival).
We don’t care about genres, we just want you to dance. We play anything from hip hop, dubstep, and ghetto house, to funk, rock, disco, and R&B, plus slow jams at the end of the night. Eclectic selections from an eccentric crew.

Now we make music to make you dance and nod your head, monthly mixtapes, short films, hand-drawn posters, videos, and T-shirts.

…and we still DJ. In Shanghai you can find us at Dada and The Shelter (the two best spots in town for music), and sometimes in other cities. We’d love to DJ in your town too; in the club, at your local roller rink, or anywhere really.

Love Bang诞生于一个叫做Dada的平价小酒吧，在上海一条叫做幸福路的小街上，从2010年4月起。我们在同一个派对上放各种不同速度和风格的音乐，而且保证低音效果足够有分量！
本来呢，我们只是一个派对。目前我们已经发展成一个团体，叫做The Love Bang Universe。
现在我们还会每月推出我们制作的mixtape，保证让你跳舞点头，选曲横跨各种音乐类型。还制作电影小短片，手绘海报和T恤衫。
…不用担心，我们仍然专心于DJ，用我们的品味、层次和天赋去DJ。在上海，你可以在Dada和The Shelter（上海音乐最棒的两家DJ酒吧）找到我们。有时也可能会在其他城市找到我们，如：北京，杭州，重庆和成都。我们也很有兴趣来你的城市表演，在酒吧，在溜冰场，甚至在你奶奶的生日派对上。

LOVE BANG es una fiesta mensual que comenzó en Dada abril del 2010, en la calle Xingfu de Shangai. Se tocan varios ritmos y géneros en la misma noche, y eso si, nunca falta el bajo.Originalmente era solo una fiesta. Y hoy en día somos un colectivo, conocido como Bang Love.Hoy hacemos música para que se baile, tenemos mixtapes mensuales que se incluyen sin problemas todos géneros, y cortometrajes, carteles hechos a mano y camisetas.

… eso si siempre DJs con estilo, clase y elegancia. En Shanghai nos puedes encontrar en Dada o Shelter, (los dos lugares con la mejor musica en la ciudad), y aveces en otras ciudades como Beijing, Hangzhou, Chongqing y Chengdu. ¡Nos encantaría pinchar en tu ciudad también, en un club, en la pista de patinaje local, o incluso la fiesta de su cumpleaños de la abuela.

Empezamos LOVE BANG, en respuesta al aburrimiento causado por demasiados mismos generos, noches con música house insípida, y “hip hop”, que no era en realidad el hip hop.

Aunque a la final no importan los géneros, sólo queremos bailar. Cualquier cosa, desde el hip hop, dubstep, y house ghetto, hasta funk, disco y R & B. selecciones eclécticas de un equipo excéntrico. Y si, nos gusta el bajo.
